Arch Henderson has maintained an in-house diving capability for over 30 years. Our team of professional divers has undertaken survey and inspection work in most of the harbours in Scotland. In the North East of Scotland, we have carried out annual inspections on marine structures in many locations for the last 25 years for both insurance purposes and to monitor significant structural deterioration. We currently have four partners and staff who are trained to dive and who, as a minimum, have a Health and Safety Executive Part III (surface supply) qualification.
All our diving activities are carried out in accordance with the Diving at Work Regulations 1997. In general, we work alongside other commercial divers and together undertake to provide the back-up and equipment necessary, ensuring that safety standards are met.
Inspection and Condition Survey Work
Inspection work may include structures such as breakwaters, coastal protection works, harbour structures, docks and lock etc. We have extensive experience in surveying marine structures, whether they are constructed from masonry, steel or timber. The condition report we compile following a survey, identifies any defects found and provides recommendations for any repair work required.
Our divers can monitor the accuracy and quality of underwater construction work as work progresses and also check that the completed work has been built to specification.
